Mineral County Public Library launches Summer Reading Program
Pet lovers of all kinds are invited to join “Paws, Claws, Scales and Tales” at the Mineral County Public Library. The 2006 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawings, story hours and more. Families are invited to join the Read-to-Me portion of the program.

Preschool (ages 3 to 6) story hours will be every Tuesday beginning June 6 through August 22, from 2:30 to 3:30 PM, at the Superior Library.

Programs for other children will be advertised throughout the summer, advance registration for each will be necessary.

For many members of the Alberton track and Field team, Saturday in Missoula marked their final high school athletic event as they made their way to Big Sky High School to compete in the Class C Divisional meet.

Burkland finishes strong season
Ryanne Burkland was St. Regis’ lone member of the girls’ track team this season. She challenged herself all season long to run faster, throw longer and jump further and each week she met those goals. Though she didn’t advance to the state meet after competing in the Class C Divisional meet in Missoula on Friday and Saturday, she did set some school records the week before.
