Voters at the St. Regis Community Council meeting Tuesday night chose the Super 8 Motel for the community readerboard. A state employee will examine the site Friday. If the site is not approved, voters chose the St. Regis Fire Hall as the backup site for the readerboard.

St. Regis has raised the $23,000 for the board and has placed its order. The council must install a foundation and run power to the site.

The board will be operated over a wireless connection from the high school.

The community council will own and insure the sign, but the school will operate it and control the messages that are displayed on it, such as notices that school has been closed due to snow.

The Numeritex sign is four feet high and nine feet wide, with "Welcome to St. Regis, Home of the Tigers" appearing 11 feet off the ground.

Donations are still being accepted. $25 and more gets your names placed on part of the framework for the sign. Make out the check to the St. Regis Community Council, PO Box St. Regis MT, and send it to St. Regis School, Attn: Don Almquist, Drawer K, St. Regis MT 59866.
