Mineral County is now participating in the Crime Stoppers Program.

Missoula Crime Stoppers Program invited Mineral County to participate in the program at no cost.

The public can provide information about crimes by offering them a payment for information that leads to arrest and conviction.

Callers can remain completely anonymous when calling in a tip about a crime. The caller is assigned an ID number and can check back on the progress of the case.

Payment is made to an informant after the successful arrest and conviction. The amount of the payment is based on a table that takes into account the seriousness of the crime, the risk to the informant and other criteria. The informant can go to the bank with their ID number and announce the number and receive payment without having to give their name.
