Mark your calendars for June 10 when Alberton Feed & Supply celebrates its first anniversary. Callison Trucking and Excavating, already in business for one year, will also be celebrating its move to the new office located in Alberton Feed & Supply at 201 Railroad Avenue.

The party June 10 will include a free barbecue, a live broadcast by KYSS-FM, a visit by Montana Clownworks to entertain all the kids, and a water balloon toss for some great prizes.
In 2002 owners Rick and Salinas decided to leave California. The kids weren’t in school yet, and after living in California they knew what they didn’t want.
“We wanted a small town, with a small school; we wanted a place to retire. We didn’t want to have to worry about the kids. We were familiar with Alberton, Rick’s brother Will and wife Jackie Callison were living here. It was just what we wanted,” Salinas explained.
And so Alberton became the new home for Rick, Salinas, Cody (8), Creighton (6), and Carson (3).
If you’ve already stopped in to the Alberton Feed & Supply you’ve probably met Carson, “The Official Greeter” for the store. The second you are out of your car, and heading toward the door, out rushes little Carson with a big smile welcoming you to his new store.
Salinas spends most days in the store with employee Sandy Neis. Other employees are high school students Becca Petersen and Carly Aniballi. Salinas, who spent 12 years as a dental assistant, can now be found running the office for both the Feed Store and Callison Trucking and Excavating. She has serves as director of the After School Program and was PTA President for 2 years.
There is plenty of parking, and Alberton Feed & Supply has exactly what you are looking for. There is clothing for everyone, birdseed, and housewares. Need a lawnmower? Give Salinas a call! Plants are on sale. They preload feed for customers and give a one ton discount. Layaways are available on nonseasonable and nonperishable items, says Sandy. Don’t forget to check out their new fishing section. And don’t forget to think ahead, order those baby chicks early!
The store is one of only 13 in the state certified as a Purina Mills Certified ULTIUM dealer. They also do consignments by local artists.
If they don’t have what you’re looking for, Salinas will be happy to get it for you. Forget about traveling to Missoula—there are catalogs you can come in and browse. Alberton Feed & Supply can order exactly what you need.
While you’re in for the grand opening, be sure and visit with Rick and the employees of Callison Trucking and Excavating. Rick and his crew specialize in small equipment. But trenches for water, putting in those phone lines, hauling gravel, topsoil, and brush clearing are just a few of the many thing they can do. Their equipment consists of a 10 yd. dump truck, 2 excavators, 1 backhoe, a dozer, and a skidster. There is no job too big or too small. Site Supervisor and Operator Knute Tocci and John Robinson are able to do site development, basement, crawlspaces, driveways, and roads. They also are able to do Standard or Engineered Septic System CI & CII.
Watch for hourly specials, and get a balloon for the kids. And don’t forget, you could be the lucky winner of tickets to see John Michael Montgomery at the Western Montana fair.
